Welcome to the Manatee County Medical Society Education FoundationThe Manatee County Medical Society Education Foundation is a 501(C)3 organziation. The Education Foundation raises monies and disperses them to medically related charities. In 2007, the Education Foundation raised nearly $ (totals to be added shortly) for local charities. Scholarships 20010The Education Foundation raises monies and disperses them to students in a medical related field. In 2007, the Education Foundation awarded $10,000 for scholarships and receipts were: Lindsey Willis Lindsey is a 2006 graduate of FSU and in August will begin her 2nd year of a 4 year program at the University of Florida for her Doctor of Audiology degree. We awarded Lindsey $1,000. Casey Beal Casey is finishing his 2nd year of Medical School at the University of Florida. This will be our 4th year supporting Casey. We awarded him $2,500. Chelsea Boston Chelsea is finishing her 2nd year of Medical School at Florida State University. This is our 4th year supporting her and we awarded her $2,500. LuAnn Dante LuAnn is now in nursing at St. Pete College to earn her RN. We supported LuAnn while she attended Manatee Technical Institute to obtain her LPN. We awarded her $500. Cassie Eiffert Cassie is entering her last year at the University of Florida this Fall. She will receive her Doctor of Audiology and she is one of the top 3 students in the nation in her field. We awarded Cassie $1,500. Amanda McCracken Amanda is in her last year of Nursing at the University of Florida. She has been accepted into the Family Health Nurse Practitioners Masters Program. We have supported Amanda the last 2 years and have awarded her $1,000. Trang Nguyen Trang is due to graduate the Summer of 2008 with a degree in Chemistry/Health Professions from the University of South Florida. She is now applying to Medical Schools and if she does not get accepted she plans to continue her studies at USF in the masters program which has the same curriculum as the first year of Medical School. This will be our 3rd year supporting Trang and we awarded her $700. Carlo Petrillo Carlo will graduate from the University of Florida in December 2007 with a degree in Microbiology and Cell Science/Pre Med. He is now applying to Medical Schools and hopes to begin Fall 2008. This is our 3rd year supporting Carlo and we awarded him $300 for his last semester and have encouraged him to reapply if he gets into Medical School |
